Kohlbrecher Equipment was established in 1986 by John Kohlbrecher as a Surge dairy equipment dealer.In December 1991 the Harvestore dealership formerly known as Curtis-Jansen, Inc. was acquired. This acquisition included all the service and office personnel from the Highland, Illinois facility. These employees allowed for a seamless transition due to their wealth of technical and administrative knowledge. Over the years Kohlbrecher Equipment has acquired additional product lines and experienced employees with the sole intention of complementing our original lines and services.
In 2007, John embarked on a succession plan in advance of retirement. Employee Chad Ribbing bought into the business and now shares in ownership. Chad’s roots run deep in the organization, starting his early employment as a teenager providing general maintenance assistance. John and Chad work together closely on both the technical and administrative aspects of the business to ensure a smooth transition and successful future.
